Leveraging Environmental Justice to Unlock the Potential of Education
- This 3 hour professional learning session takes a deep look at the ideas and resources featured in a webinar with Dr. Philip Bell, Dr. Deb L. Morrison, Dr. Kelley Lê, and Dr. Juan Manuel Rubio. Educators will explore and develop a group understanding of environmental justice, consider the socio-historical and ethical contexts of science, look at examples of environmental justice phenomena for students to explore, and begin to create their own environmental justice lesson plan.
- Meant to be paired with the corresponding Climate Teacher Ed Webinar from UW Institute of Science + Math Education to facilitate educator learning about the featured form of climate justice learning pedagogy for their own local context.
